1. Update v1.7:
  2. ⚡ New FREE Survivor: Achilles - The God’s Avenger
  3. The hero returns one last time.
  4. Achilles has worn many faces throughout his journey.
  5.
  6. Now, for his third and final incarnation, he steps onto the battlefield as The God’s Avenger - a heavier, melee-focused Warrior built to stand his ground and answer overwhelming odds with overwhelming force.
  7.
  8. He starts with:
  9.
  10. +350 Maximum Health
  11. +20% Melee Damage
  12. -5% Movement Speed
  13.
  14. He is a little slower, considerably harder to kill, and carrying enough lightning to make Hades nervous.
  15.
  16. âš¡ Power - Lightning Blade
  17. Sometimes a sword is not enough.
  18.
  19. So we electrified it.
  20.
  21. With Lightning Blade, Achilles swings a massive two-handed sword first in front of him and then behind, cutting through enemies on both sides. Each strike also sends lightning surging around the blade, letting you punish anything unfortunate enough to get close.
  22.
  23. The result is a Power built for exactly the sort of situation Achilles tends to find himself in:
  24.
  25. surrounded, outnumbered, and absolutely unwilling to retreat.
  26.
  27. ⚡ Talent - Zeus’ Blessing
  28. Olympus has interfered in Achilles’ fate often enough. This time, at least, the thunder is on his side.
  29.
  30. When Achilles falls below 25% Maximum Health, taking damage calls down Zeus’ lightning around him, dealing heavy area damage to nearby enemies.
  31.
  32. It has a 60-second cooldown, so do not treat it as permission to spend the entire run at 2 HP.
  33.
  34. Or do.
  35.
  36. Just send us a video.
  37.
  38. 🐐 New DLC Survivor: Chimera - The Monstrous Hybrid
  39. The monster finally gets the spotlight.
  40. Greek myths usually remember the hero who slays the beast. This time, the beast gets the controller.
  41.
  42. Chimera has also been one of your most persistent requests, with one particularly determined member of our community making very sure she stayed on our radar.
  43.
  44. Now Chimera, the Monstrous Hybrid joins Achilles: Survivor as a playable Enchanter, built around status effects, aggressive movement, and having something dangerous pointed in almost every direction.
  45.
  46. She starts with:
  47. +250 Maximum Health
  48. +30% Status Strength
  49. +20% Critical Damage
  50.
  51. If Burn, Curse and Poison are already your favourite ways of making enemies regret spawning, you should feel quite at home.
  52.
  53. 🐐 Power - Hybrid Attack
  54. Why choose one attack when Greek mythology already gave Chimera three animals to work with?
  55.
  56. Every use of Hybrid Attack strikes in several directions at once:
  57.
  58. Chimera spits piercing fireballs that Burn enemies ahead.
  59.
  60. Her claws tear through nearby foes and apply Curse.
  61.
  62. Her serpent tail launches poisonous spikes behind her.
  63.
  64. As you unlock Transformations, you decide which part gets to become the real problem. Strengthen the claws. Feed the flames. Trust the serpent. Eventually, you can even sacrifice two branches entirely to heavily empower the third.
  65.
  66. Apparently Chimera can specialise.
  67.
  68. She just needed encouragement.
  69.
  70. 🐐 Talent - Goat’s Head
  71. Every 40 seconds, Goat’s Head activates, granting Chimera +25% Movement Speed and summoning a pair of spectral horns in front of her.
  72.
  73. The horns deal minor damage.
  74.
  75. That is not really the point.
  76.
  77. They knock enemies violently aside and protect Chimera from frontal contact, letting you drive straight through dense hordes instead of politely walking around them.
  78.
  79. For fifteen seconds, the shortest route from A to B is through everyone.
  80.
  81. So, to everyone who kept asking for Chimera - cheers.
  82.
  83. You won.
  84.
  85. ☀️ New Power - Helios’ Rays
  86. Apparently the gods were feeling left out.
  87. Zeus is helping Achilles, so naturally Helios wanted a turn too.
  88.
  89. Helios’ Rays joins the starting Power pool and is available to all Survivors, giving you another option to build around from the beginning of your runs.
  90.
  91. Call upon the sun god and bring a little divine sunlight to enemies who have been enjoying the shade for far too long.
  92.
  93. They will probably appreciate the warmth.
  94.
  95. Briefly.
  96.
  97. 🛠 While Olympus was busy...
  98. We also spent some time on the less glamorous part of becoming a legend: making the game smoother, clearer, and a little less grindy.
  99.
  100. A cleaner Survivor selection screen
  101. At some point, we had to admit: our pantheon has grown quite a bit since launch.
  102.
  103. That's why the Survivor selection screen has been redesigned with smaller character tiles and four Survivors per row, so you can find your favourite faster instead of embarking on an archaeological expedition through the character menu.
  104.
  105. Summoned allies are easier to build around
  106. We have reduced the Workshop prices of Myrmidons and Skeletons, making summoned allies easier to fit into your runs.
  107.
  108. Skeletons have also gained more movement speed, so they should spend less time chasing the battle after you have already moved on.
  109.
  110. Come on, lads. The war is this way.
  111.
  112. Titan’s Blade gets some love
  113. Titan’s Blade has been buffed, giving one of our older Powers a little more muscle and helping it compete with newer additions to the arsenal. Give it another run and let us know how it feels.
  114.
  115. Less grind, same challenge
  116. We also took another look at several Challenges that demanded a little too much repetition and lowered their requirements. The biggest change is on Hades 5, where the Pandora’s Box objective has been replaced with reaching the maximum Transformation Level for Souls of Tartarus. This means completing the Challenge no longer depends on Rebirth.
  117.
  118. The goal was simple: keep the Challenges meaningful, without asking you to sacrifice quite so many evenings to the gods of repetition.
  119.
  120. And one important fix for our larger Survivors
  121. We improved hit detection for our larger Survivors, including Minotaur and Chimera.
  122.
  123. Attacks should now respect what you actually see on screen instead of occasionally deciding that a horn, wing, or suspicious amount of empty air deserved to take damage.
