1. One Year Of Splatter
  2.
  3. It's been a year and a week since we launched Splatter.
  4.
  5. First, patch notes: To celebrate our release anniversary, we've added developer commentary to some of the game's levels. Check the "commentary" box on the level select screen and you'll hear us talk about things like releasing demos, pitching to publishers, and the secret reason why the weapon charge meters are labeled "testosterone" and "estrogen."
  6.
  7. This will probably be our last content update for Splatter. We might have a few devs add more commentary (it's been a pretty busy few weeks, and we weren't able to get everything we wanted recorded in time for the anniversary), but otherwise, the game feels complete and it's time we put the damn thing to bed. Thanks for coming with us on this journey.

  11. Splatter was, as you all know, an unexpected smash hit, selling dozens of copies and inspiring countless imitators. The cultural phenomenon that is "Splatter" has shown up in a variety of unexpected places this year, and we figured we'd highlight a few of them!

  25. Looking Forward At 2023 Part 2
  26.
  27. The team that released Splatter a year ago is now two teams working on separate projects. I'd like to close this out by encouraging you to check out the stuff that both the Catbird team and the Rat King team are doing, because we've both got some pretty neat stuff in the oven.

  29.
  30. The Rat King team has developed Littlest Pet Shooter, a hybrid FPS / pet sim built for the 7DFPS game jam. You can keep tabs on their work via their Twitter or Discord.
  31.
  32. Over at Catbird, we're working on a game called Steel Carnelian:

  35. It's a shooter / platformer with robots and tons of bullets, but that uppercut was the coolest clip I could fit into a 5mb gif so it's what I went with. If you want to see more, check out our Twitter, Bluesky, or Discord.
