1. Patch Notes — v1.0.3.4
  2.
  3. The second Dead Weight patch is now available!
  4. We’re continuing to read your reviews, discussions, and bug reports. Some larger tasks are still in progress, so in this patch we focused on the issues players mentioned most often: combat problems, global map behavior, hints, interface improvements, and several frustrating situations that could get in the way of a run.
  5. Thank you to everyone who shares feedback and helps us see the game not only from the inside of development, but also through the eyes of players. It really does affect the order of fixes and which tasks we prioritize first!
  6. You can tell us about problems or share what you’d like to see in the game in the Steam discussions and on our Discord server.
  7. Thank you for playing Dead Weight and helping us make the game better!
  8. Dead Weight — patch 1.0.3.4
  9. Map and towns
  10. After unlocking the “STAGE II” meta upgrade, a flag button has been added to the global map. When the pirate flag is raised, weaker pirates fear the ship’s Battle Power and will not attack.
  11. Pirate ships on the global map no longer respawn endlessly after being destroyed.
  12. New Dock unlock condition: you now need to spend more than 1024 Fuel during a run. Previously, you had to visit 2 refueling islands. Fuel spent in the prologue does not count toward unlocking the Dock.
  13. The Lighthouse now checks fog more accurately before scouting: an area can be scouted if at least 30% of its fog remains hidden.
  14. Random events on the global map are now distributed more reliably, helping avoid situations where several identical events spawn next to each other.
  15. Pirate ships without fuel now have a separate map icon during the “Fuel Crisis”.
  16.
  17. Balance and skills
  18. Guaranteed experience from battles has been reduced: it is now 50 / 75 / 90 / 110 / 130 instead of 75 / 100 / 125 / 150 / 175.
  19. Experience bonuses from weapons and armor now apply only to the character wearing that equipment. Gear worn by allies no longer increases the hero’s experience gain.
  20. Double Arcing Shot can now be used on adjacent targets.
  21. Heavy Axe Throw now has a 2-turn cooldown instead of 1.
  22. Daggers can no longer be reforged: Cobbler’s Knife, Stiletto, and Kukri have been removed from the reforging chain. Reforging is available only for weapons and armor.
  23. The Corrupted Fruit’s “Curse” no longer reduces Speed by 3 and damage by 3 for 3 turns. Its main effect remains: 1 Curse damage over 3 turns to nearby targets, plus 1 direct damage.
  24. Fixed Zeula’s “Barrier” and “Confession” skills: an ally’s base Armor no longer turns into extra damage when Confession is active.
  25. Updated Zeula’s skill descriptions: “Barrier” gives the target 2 Armor, while “Confession” makes Barrier replace 2 Armor with +2 damage for 1 turn when used on an ally, and resets that ally’s skill cooldowns.
  26. Arn’s Second Wind now triggers reliably on lethal damage: once per battle, Arn stays alive with 1 Health.
  27. Fixed a bug where Powerful Buckshot and Stunning Buckshot could hit objects in the shot area incorrectly. Their parameters have not changed.
  28. The push preview for Berry’s ranged attacks now correctly accounts for the “Friendly Fire” skill.
  29. Fixed a bug where skills with a radius could highlight tiles incorrectly while targeting, especially near map edges and on complex battlefield shapes.
  30. Adjusted the battlefield zone in the third boss fight: ranged attacks should no longer reach the boss during the normal phase.
  31. Fixed the animation delay when using skills with the “Recoil” effect.
  32.
  33. Interface and hints
  34. Counterattack and Charge now have persistent status animations, making it clear when the effect is active and when it has ended.
  35. The Fury skill icon now updates immediately when Fury changes.
  36. Updated the ship buttons under the global map stats: Drift and Tug.
  37. Updated and corrected texts, including the descriptions for the Dock, Barrier, Confession, and the flag button.
  38.
  39. Stability and fixes
  40. Fixed save corruption that could happen when quickly returning to the main menu after death, but before the approval summary screen appeared. In the same case, Insid in the Abyss could incorrectly use robot lines from the Docks.
  41. During the battle intro animation, the battlefield no longer reacts to clicks: you can no longer accidentally select a tile or action before the battle starts.
  42. If an ally dies at the same time as victory is triggered, the battle result is now processed correctly and does not trigger twice.
  43. Events without rewards now close correctly and no longer leave an extra victory or reward window behind.
  44. When sacrificing a stack of items, Madness is now gained for each item in the stack, not just for one item.
  45. When dismissing a mercenary, extra empty items from occupied slots no longer appear in the inventory.
  46. Weapons that take up several slots now move more reliably between equipment and backpack: items should no longer end up in unavailable slots.
  47. Hints and the pause menu now close more reliably when moving between screens.
  48. The main menu and death transitions are now more stable: there should be fewer situations where the menu can be opened or the game can be saved at the wrong moment, which could potentially damage the save file.
