  29. Unreal Engine Upgrade - Version 4.27
  30. We’ve updated the Unreal Engine version that Pacific Drive uses to the latest version of Unreal Engine 4 - 4.27!
  31. This upgrade comes with significant changes and improvements to DirectX 12, which we have found improves performance and fixes those rare cases of mesh transforms becoming ‘corrupted’.
  32. For visual context, this is the glitch that showed massive spikes or broken textures in-game.
  33. Ex: (The sky dome being too small, a car part’s mesh physically skewed, or other similar vertex-bending artifacts).
  34. This upgrade moves us to the newest, most stable version of Unreal Engine 4, which improves stability of the game across the board.

  42. Fixed an issue where sometimes meshes would become distorted on load for any location in game.
  43. Improved car doors closing on inclines, related to physics and has been adjusted.
  44. Player will now receive an impact hammer from the friendly dumpster if they can’t progress in the tutorial after returning from the first trip without one
  45. Resources less likely to get stuck in boulders - no longer stuck inside geometry.

  69. Special shout out to Macksfield, a player from our community who was experimenting with the upgrades and discovered that unintended radiation was making it's way into the Drivers suit.
  70. Dumpster Pearls now properly provide resources when fed to the Matter Deconstructor. This was related to harmful status effects and/or fatigue effects being disabled in the settings.

  74. Colossal Cappy is now scannable, with the correct logbook implementation

  76. Players are now warned when choosing a custom preset that includes settings that will disable achievements on main menu, and in game.
  77. Scenic Route now has a warning that explicitly states that achievements will be disabled because it turns off player death.
  78. It is now more difficult to disable Achievements from main menu and settings menu
  79. Achievements can only be disabled if game is started with settings applied from either the main menu, or from the settings menu - changes will not take effect if the pause menu has not been exited.
  80. Colossal Cappy is now easier to scan, and it’s entry will now appear in the logbook after being scanned.
  81. Removed a road-less map from the early game pool.
  82. A specific Forest map was proving to be too nasty when encountered early on in higher difficulties due to the lack of roads. This map has been removed from the pool of viable early game maps and will now only appear later in the game.

  84. Gameplay Balance and Scripting
  85. Implemented an “Accident Forgiveness Plan” where players who encountered an issue where achievements were erroneously disabled after scrolling through difficulties now have achievements enabled again for viable saves.
  86. Fix is retroactively applied to existing saves - it will be possible to start earning achievements again on affected saves.
  87. Story-related achievements will need to be re-attempted.
